Domestic Energy Strategy
We are committed to tackling fuel poverty, promoting domestic energy efficiency, and the use of renewable energy sources.
The provision of healthy and warm homes for our customers is a priority and we will assist them in accessing advice that will help them to maximise their incomes and benefit from fuel cost savings.
We are also committed to becoming more energy efficient in the technology we use to heat our homes.
Some recent examples of our work in this area include the development of low carbon homes in the Freckleton. Homes at the £1.3 million scheme were constructed using sustainably sourced timber frames, which ensure excellent insulation. The buildings also have triple glazed windows, high energy efficiency boilers, low energy lighting, and a heat recovery system, which provides fresh air and maintains comfortable temperatures whilst using very little energy.
Other initiatives include the installation of photovoltaic solar panels, loft insulation, energy efficient central heating systems and cavity wall insulation.
