New Progress Housing Association manages two purpose built housing schemes for homeless people in Preston and Chorley. Foundations and Inn2, based on Oxford Street in the Avenham area in Preston is a two-storey building, providing 22 self-contained flats and related support services. The £2.3m scheme, which opened in 2005, marked the first major partnership between Preston City Council and New Progress to create new housing. The government's Housing Corporation invested £2m in the project, with New Progress and Preston City Council jointly funding the remaining £364,000.
The Bridge, which also opened in 2005, is based on Clarence Street in Chorley and offers housing and support for ten young people aged 18 - 25 years old facing homelessness. The development of the scheme marked the first major partnership deal between New Progress and Chorley Borough Council. The three-storey building received £650,000 worth of funding from the Housing Corporation, with New Progress and Chorley Borough Council funding the remaining costs of the £821,000 scheme.
In July 2008, Foundations won the
