Every ASB case is different and treated according to the needs of the victims/witness.
We always send out log sheets to record incidents, or, if this was a problem for the witness we will record it on their behalf.
We will allow the victim/witnesses to record their evidence on audio tape if this was more convenient and then have it transcribed and signed.
Thoughout the case we will visit or ring on a regular basis to ensure that we are kept up to date on any incidents recorded and assure the victim of our support.
When completing witness statements we do it in a place that is convenient for the victim/witness and preferably a place that they have selected themselves.
Should we require the witness to attend court, we will offer to take them there, and support them through the hearing. If this is not possible we will order a taxi and ensure someone meets them at court to support them.We will ensure that any lost earnings are compensated for and any out of pocket expenses covered. Also any child care provision will be paid for.
Should we require them to attend again at a future date we will assist as before. On the completion of the case we will feedback to the victim/witness the outcome of the case including any details of injunctions that have been granted. We will them assure them of our support in the future if the problem recurs.
