Sheltered Plus is a service offered at two sheltered schemes: Stanner Lodge (St Anne’s) and Croft/Naze Court in Freckleton. It was launched twelve months ago, and the reason for today is to celebrate the first year, and look to the future.
Sheltered Plus enables people to live independently, but with a wide range of services and support, offering those who are finding it difficult to live at home, an alternative to residential and nursing home care. Social Services worked together with New Fylde Housing and Carewatch to look at ways to develop Sheltered Housing and meet the needs of older people now and in the future.
It offers a dedicated 24/7 care team offering ongoing assessment and flexible home care, giving residents more control over their care needs.
In May 2009, two new respite suites opened, one at Naze Court and one at Stanner Lodge, with the partnership of LCC, NFH and Carewatch, which offer people respite or short term care. They are designed to provide a home environment, and are fully fitted with assistive technology equipment.
