All New Progress Housing Association tenants have been sent a copy of the summary version of our tenants’ annual report. The report tells you how we performed in 2009/10 and how we plan to make our services even better next year.
Following your feedback we produced two versions of our annual report; the summary report will give you an overview of our performance and the full report will give you a more detailed analysis of our performance and how it compares with other local housing providers.

You said…we did
This annual report has been prepared with a great deal of input from tenants. Firstly, we sent a short questionnaire to a large group of tenants who have told us that they’d like to help with giving feedback. We asked for their thoughts on how to lay out this report, what information to include and what not to include. This is what you told us:
| Would you prefer to read a report about: | |
| Progress Housing Group (our parent company) | 36% |
| New Progress Housing Association | 57% |
| Both / no answer | 7% |
| Would you like to read: | |
| Full detailed report | 23% |
| Summary report | 70% |
| Both / no answer | 7% |
| Do you think we should send: | |
| Full report to every home | 5% |
| Summary report to every home and publish full version on website and print copies on request | 86% |
| Both / no answer | 9% |
| What format would you prefer: | |
| Magazine | 55% |
| Newspaper | 31% |
| Most cost effective / no answer | 14% |
We then discussed the content and format of the annual report with our Housing Forum to find out their views. We also asked all attendees to complete the questionnaire. The Housing Forum includes tenants who are involved in various tenant groups, but is also open to any tenant who wishes to attend.
Following this, we took a fairly advanced draft to our tenants’ editorial panel for their final comments on the design and content. This panel is experienced in advising on the content, style and presentation of various publications, particularly Talk magazine. They made suggestions such as colour-coding the contents list and including a reference to the full report on the front cover of the summary report.
Once the design and content had been updated to take into account all of the feedback that we received, it was presented to representatives from our Board of Management for final approval.
