Categories of anti-social behaviour
We prioritise all anti-social behaviour complaints by separating them into three categories:
Category A
Response time: one working day.
Examples:
- Violence
- Threats of violence
- Racial, homophobic or transphobic harassment or acts such as graffiti
- Severe harassment
Category B
Response time: five working days
Examples:
- Habitual nuisance (where previous actions taken have not resolved the problem)
- Criminal activity (where action has to be co-ordinated with other agencies) including the misuse of substances and alcohol related incidents
- Juvenile related incidents
- Criminal damage
- Harassment that does not involve threats
- Clash of lifestyle complaints
- Cases that can be referred for mediation
Category C
Response time: ten working days
Examples:
- Barking dogs
- Unkempt gardens
- Incorrect parking of vehicles
- Untaxed vehicles
- Accumulation of rubbish
- General graffiti removal (not racist, homophobic or transphobic)
- Noise nuisance
- Using premises as a business, which causes nuisance to neighbours
