My Tenant Zone

New Progress

Why get involved?

  • It’s an excellent way to get to know your neighbours and to be involved in your community.
  • We consult with tenant groups when we are introducing changes. Your involvement will help us to respond to your concerns or to any suggestions that you may have.
  • It’s a great way to develop your own skills and confidence. You can learn how take part in meetings, how to work together with others for a common goal, and even how to write articles for our newsletter.
  • It’s a useful addition to any CV or job application.
  • You will be able to campaign for changes that you would like.
  • You can help to improve your local community by organising social events and activities.

Examples of ways that tenant involvement has changed the way that we deliver our services include:

  • An Anti-Social Behaviour Review, whereby tenants and partner organisations reviewed the current policy and learned how the priorities within it were set.
  • A Governance seminar that enabled tenants, staff and board members to discuss the Group structure and finance.
  • A lively Editorial Panel, where customers worked with our marketing department to agree the contents of the next edition of our Talk magazine as well as the design of the website to make it more user-friendly.
  • The Grounds Maintenance Panel who meet monthly to discuss the current contract and work being carried out and any issues directly with the contractor.
  • The Disability Forum, which met to look at the current aids and adaptations policy.
  • Tenants visits to the tenants’ training centre at Trafford Hall and the Chartered Institute of Housing Exhibition.
  • Training tenants to be qualified youth workers.
