There are five ways that you can pay your rent. For more information about how to use any of these payment methods contact your Housing Officer.
- By Housing Benefit (if eligible)
Housing Benefit is money you may get from your local council to help you pay your rent. Housing Benefit can be paid straight to us as your landlord. If you do not receive full Housing Benefit you will still have to pay all or some of your rent by one of the other payment methods. - By Direct Debit
If you are not in receipt of Housing Benefit, this is the easiest way to pay your rent. Payments can be made every Monday straight from your building society or bank account into ours. You can also choose to pay monthly on the 3rd or 20th of each month. We can only take an agreed amount from your account and we will tell you first if we need to change the amount. Paying by Direct Debit also helps us save money so we can invest more in your community and homes.
You can download a Direct Debit form here.
Complete and return to: The Database Team, Progress Living, Sumner House, 21 King Street, Leyland, PR25 2LW. Don't forget to include your Tenancy Number. - By swipe card
Cash or cheque payments can be made at any PayPoint and Payzone outlets, or the Post Office. Just present your card with your payment - cash or debit card - and it will be credited to your rent account. You will be given a receipt. Keep this safe as it is proof that you have paid your rent.

- Online using a debit card
Payments can be made online here. There is no charge to you for paying this way. We do not accept credit card payments. - By phone using a debit card
Payments can be made by phoning us on 01772 450610. You will need to tell us how much you want to pay, your tenancy reference number and your debit card details. Please note that we can only take payments from the debit card holder.
Rent statements
We will send you a rent account statement every 3 months. The statement will tell you what rent you should have paid in that time and what payments we have received.
This is your record of payment, so it is important that you check them and keep these statements.
You can also check the balance on your rent account at any time by contacting your Housing Officer.
View your rent account
You can now view the latest transactions on your rent account online. To access your account online, you will need a unique username and password. You can get these by calling us on 01772 450644 and telling us that you want to be able to view your rent account online.
How much does it cost to make a payment?
We do not charge for any of the above methods of payment. However, every transaction costs us money. These transaction fees vary greatly depending on the type of payment method you choose.
