We have to plan ahead to keep some parts of your home in good repair. We call this the planned maintenance programme.
There are two types of planned maintenance:
- Work that needs doing every year
- Big items that need to be replaced every so often
Examples of work that needs to be carried out every year or sometimes longer are:
- Servicing any gas central heating boiler or fire in your home
- Checking any movable electrical appliances that we are responsible for, such as the fridge or electric cooker
We also have to plan ahead to renew big items in your home. For example:
- Replacing all the kitchen units
- Electrical re-wiring
We will always write to let you know when we are carrying out planned maintenance work. We try to give a month’s notice of when the work will start. We will try to help with any special arrangements you might need while the job is being done.
Yearly maintenance visit
Once a year one of our repairs inspectors will visit to look at the condition of your home. He/she will see what repairs need to be done.
