Residents living at Tuson House sheltered House Scheme in Penwortham have raised a staggering £600 for the North West Air Ambulance.

Chief Fundraiser and resident of Tuson House, Allen Hill, said: “Every year we spend a lot of time discussing which charities we feel passionate about and this year we decided we would like to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance. They do some fantastic work and we hope this donation will go some way to making a difference.”

“We raised the money by holding a cabaret evening, a Christmas draw, a Christmas card appeal and made donations at our weekly coffee mornings.”

North West Air Ambulance costs nearly £4 million per year to run yet does not receive any central government or lottery funding. On average the helicopters are out 8 times a day with every mission costing around £1,500.
