Young tenants sign compact
22 November 2011 - Resident, Mykel Bridges, tenant representative for a housing scheme for young adults in Chorley, last week signed the new Tenants' Compact on behalf of other residents.
The Bridge in Chorley provides self-contained accommodation and support services for 10 young people aged between 16 and 25 affected by homelessness.
The tenant compact was introduced by New Progress Housing Association as a way to get tenants involved in joint decision making and shaping the services they receive.
Sue Whitham, Head of Housing Support for New Progress Housing Association said: 'New Progress is keen for tenants to be involved in their service provision and are happy for enthusiastic tenants like Mykel to be their representative.'
'By asking tenants to sign up to the tenants compact we are demonstrating our commitment to working constructively with all sectors of the community and to the development of active citizenship.'
