19 December 2012 - South Ribble Women's Refuge, Clare House is currently preparing for a busy festive period as it helps women and children escapre the misery of domestic violence.

6 December - Bamber Bridge Community Fun Day is being held on Sunday 9 December between 11am and 2pm.

4 December- At this time of year South Ribble Women’s Refuge, Clare House, starts to ask the local people for help in supporting vulnerable families in their communities.

19 November - A mother has been evicted from her home after her son’s behaviour caused misery for local residents.

16 November- Staff at Progress Housing Group’s offices in Leyland and Lytham St Annes raised a whopping £630 for Children in Need, thanks to a combination of homemade delicious desserts and a prize draw raffle.

15 November 2012 - A 46 year old woman has been sentenced to up to 4 months in prison for entering the Broadfield estate in Leyland. Deborah Whittle, of no fixed abode, was banned from the estate under the terms of an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) awarded against her in April 2012.

7 November 2012 - A woman from Preston has been selected as a finalist for a national housing award.

31st October-
More than 60 tenants from across Lancashire came together for New Progress Housing Association and New Fylde Housing’s Community Involvement Consultation event.

31st October- New Progress Housing Association based in Leyland, Lancashire helped local residents learn more about the World Wide Web this week as it took part in the national Get Online Week.

18th October- New Progress Housing Association has been awarded a nationally recognised accreditation for the way it deals with anti-social behaviour and its commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) in its communities.

12th October - An 18 year old man from Penwortham has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) with Power of Arrest for two years.

11th October- Police in Leyland have teamed up with schools to use a set of cards as a way of reminding local children to stay safe and out of trouble.

5th October - From November 2012, households on pre-payment energy meters can switch suppliers and get cheaper bills more easily thanks to new rules from energy regulator Ofgem.

23rd October- Residents are set to move into their brand new homes after unused industrial land in Kirkham town centre was transformed into much-needed affordable housing.

5th October - Simple Payment nationally will commence in the autumn and by spring 2013 it is expected that all existing cheque-paid claimants and pensioners will have moved to electronic payment methods.

5th October- The Mayor of Preston Councillor Carl Crompton visited St Catherine’s Hospice in Preston to cut the ribbon on the restored hospice summerhouse - originally built as an exhibit for the 1922 Guild Trades Procession.

13th September- Progress Housing Group has scooped an award recognising its excellent commitment to its employees from Blackburn College.

13th September - Residents at Boundary Close sheltered scheme in New Longton have raised £400 for charity. It will be given to the NW Air Ambulance and resident Peter Boulton who is fundraising by walking up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise donations for Galloway Society for the Blind.

18th September 2012- A record number of gardeners, who have helped to make South Ribble bloom this summer despite the extraordinary weather conditions, were recognised at an awards presentation last month.

12th September 2012 - Janet Hale, former President of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) has been announced as the new Chair of Progress Housing group.

The Government is reducing the amount of housing benefit some people can claim. If you claim housing benefit to help pay your rent you may be affected by changes from April 2013. The changes mean that some people will get less housing benefit than they did before

10 July 2012 - National supported housing provider, Progress Care Housing Association, Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds City Council launched the findings of a major research project to assess whether supported housing within communities gives greater independence to people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

10 July 2012 - Two local lads are swapping Lancashire for the journey of a lifetime in the ultimate global adventure.

Progress Housing Group is supporting staff member Daniel Craine, 26 from Thornton and his driving partner David Johnson, 20 from Wrea Green, to take the 10,000 mile journey from the UK to Mongolia for charity in a Ford Ka!!!

05 May- A 33 year old man and a 23 year old woman who caused misery for residents on an estate in Penwortham have both been given an Anti Social Behaviour Injunction for two years, after New Progress Housing Association took civil action in Preston County Court.

02 April- A woman has been served with an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) with the Power of Arrest after threatening local residents whilst under the influence of excessive alcohol.

10 July 2012 - Residents of Jubilee Court sheltered scheme in Leyland recently celebrated the schemes 35 year anniversary.

06 July 2012 - New Progress Housing Association manages a number of high quality sheltered housing schemes for individuals or couples over the age of 55.

08 May 2012- A new partnership is streamlining the way people apply for social housing in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

Three councils and six housing organisations have joined together to create a simpler application system. Previously separate applications had to be made to each organisation. But now those seeking a new home in the area will have to fill in just one application form to register their interest.

19 April 2012 - Local Housing Association, New Fylde Housing is delighted to have achieved accreditation by the valued Centre for Housing and Support (CHS) Code of Practice for Support Services.

01 April 2012 - Progress Housing Group held its annual Tenant Conference on Sunday 25th March. The event was held at Ribby Hall and attended by over 100 delegates from across Lancashire, and brought together tenants and residents, staff, partner agencies and voluntary organisations.

05 March 2012 - A 22 year old man from Preston has been sent to jail for 154 days for breaching his Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction for a fourth time.

17 January 2012 - Progress Housing Group has secured over £4.8m from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to deliver 205 new affordable homes over the next four years. The funding is part of the government’s Affordable Housing Programme, which aims to deliver 80,000 new affordable homes in England by 2015.
