The Smart Home in Leyland is equipped with Telecare sensors that can aid independent living. The sensors include a Lifeline unit and pendant, bed occupancy sensor, property exit sensor, fall detector, temperature extreme sensors, flood detectors and smoke detector

The purpose of the Smart Home is to raise awareness of the sensors available to help people to live independently in their own homes.
