As part of our support to local community projects, we will be having another visit from our Soup Dragon as a way to access funding from our Community Investment Fund.

The Soup Dragon’s Den is aimed at small local community groups who need a small amount of funding to help them get going, or to grow the project to reach more people.

We have tried to keep the application process as simple as possible.

Alternatively you can apply via application form. Applicants simply need to fill in the application form and email it to the Progress Involvement Team or post it to Sumner House, 21 King Street, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 2LW.

All applications received will be reviewed and six will be shortlisted to present their pitch at the next Soup Dragon’s Den event.

The Soup Dragon’s Den will have an open invitation for local residents and supporters of each project to attend. 

About the Soup Dragon's Den

Due to the success of the first virtual Soup Dragons Den Event held earlier this year in May, we will be holding the November event virtually too! The format will remain the same with applicants presenting their pitches in front of a live virtual audience. (click here to visit Eventbrite to book a place). 

During the event, the applicants will present their pitch; it's similar to the TV show Dragon’s Den (but much friendlier), and everyone attending gets to vote for the winner - the community decides!

Once all the pitches have taken place, everyone attending the event will be asked to vote, ranking each of the six pitches in their order of preference. The votes will be counted and the winner announced at the end of the evening.

The winning applicant will receive up to £1000. The remaining five applicants will receive half of the funding they requested, or £200 (whichever is the lowest amount).

When is the next Soup Dragon's Den?

The deadline for applications is Midnight on Tuesday 2nd November 2021, the Soup Dragons Den event will take place via zoom on Thursday 18th November 2021 from 6pm - 7.30 pm.

Applicants who are chosen to pitch for funding at the event will be notified by Thursday 11th November 2021.  You can book your virtual seat via Eventbrite by clicking here.
