Building Blocks

Building Blocks is a course that helps residents prepare for living on their own.

It runs Monday - Friday from 6 to 8pm and tackles issues such as complying with benefit requirements, budgeting, saving money, utility supplies, and healthy eating.

It's also a great opportunity to discuss any issues or concerns that you have about living in your own.

Life skills support

Residents can book appointments to develop life skills in areas such as:

  • Sewing and repairing clothes
  • Learning how to iron and clean
  • Cooking
  • Arts and crafts.

The sessions are really fun and residents have made everything from fancy dress costumes to wallets and paintings.

Cook and eat sessions

We also offer Cook and Eat sessions weekly in a group setting teaching basic skills and how to make tasty food, from raw ingredients and making the most of a food parcel.
