Tenants are delighted with new affordable homes in Great Harwood
We have completed and handed over 45 new homes in Great Harwood, Lancashire.
The new homes are a major boost of affordable housing to the area and are located only a five-minute walk from the town's centre.
New tenants Mr and Mrs Cartwright were overjoyed to receive the keys to their new family home. "It's a dream come true," said Mr Carwright who suffers from health problems. "The children can have their own bedrooms now and I can access every floor of our new house." "We are all excited to move in before Christmas."
The new housing development off Britannia Street in Great Harwood is made up of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and is a mix of affordable rent and shared ownership homes. The final two homes are due to be handed over later this year.
Rebecca Field, Head of Development for Progress Housing Group, said: “It’s great to see the development nearing its completion and tenants moving into their new homes. It brings a new lease of life to the former brownfield site and provides much-needed, high-quality, affordable housing to the area."
The new housing development includes resident parking, bicycle stores and electric vehicle charging points.
Developed by Keepmoat Homes Ltd, the new homes are funded by Progress Housing Group with grant funding from Homes England.
