New tenants are celebrating after officially moving into their brand new homes in Weeton with Presse in Fylde.

St Michaels Close is Progress Housing Group’s latest affordable housing development for residents in Lancashire.

The 12 home development, which consists of two and three bedroom houses at affordable rent, has been developed in partnership with Melrose Construction Ltd and is part of Fylde Borough Council’s affordable homes programme.

New tenant Kate Murphy and her two-year-old daughter Ava were welcomed to their new home by Progress Housing Group’s Executive Director of Housing, Communities and Support Services, Bernie Keenan and David Gillett, former Head of Environmental Health and Housing at Fylde Borough Council, who presented them with a bouquet of flowers.

I absolutely love our new home and am really looking forward to getting settled in and making it ours. It’s perfect as I can now let Ava play out in the garden and I can be watching her whilst I'm stood in the kitchen making dinner. Progress have been great with us and have made it easy for us every step of the way, I can’t thank them enough. Kate

Bernie Keenan, Executive Director of Housing, Community and Support Services at Progress Housing Group, said: “It is fantastic to see tenants such as Kate and her daughter Ava enjoying their new home.

“We have worked closely with Fylde Borough Council and Melrose Construction Ltd to deliver this development to ensure residents have a warm spacious home that will help keep their energy costs at a manageable level.

“The quality of these new homes is testament to the hard work of our entire team.”

David Gillett, Fylde Borough Council’s former head of environmental health and housing, said: “Dozens of families will have cause to thank Progress Housing Group in the years to come.

“We welcome the addition of new affordable homes for families in the area.”

The housing development has also received a grant of £94,988 from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
