New affordable homes built in Arkholme - local rural housing provider Lune Valley Rural Housing Association celebrates the completion of three new homes for rent

Lune Valley Rural Housing Association (LVRHA) has just celebrated the handover of three affordable family homes for rent as part of a new housing development at ‘The Sheilings’ Arkholme near Lancaster.

Local people often cannot afford to live in rural villages and towns with demand for available homes driving prices to unaffordable levels.  Lune Valley Rural Housing Association was founded in 1989 and provides good quality affordable homes for rent in the Lune Valley, Craven and Wyre areas and with properties in 12 rural villages are proud to support these communities and the 80 families who live in our homes.

The new homes in Arkholme were built by local award-winning developers Russell Armer Homes Ltd, with Lancashire-based Progress Housing Group acting as developing agents for LVRHA, and have been delivered through a Section 106 agreement with Lancaster City Council.

Mark Charlesworth, Chair of LVHRA, said: "We are delighted that these local partnerships have enabled us to support the health and viability of our rural villages by providing three good quality, affordable, homes that will give local people the opportunity to continue to live in their communities.  We are looking forward to our first tenants moving into their new homes by the end of November and hope to continue our development programme to build more homes as soon as possible"

Lune Valley Rural Housing Association aim to deliver more rural homes throughout the area and are actively seeking suitable sites in communities where there is a need for affordable rented housing for local people.
