Progress Housing Group Shortlisted in Top Housing Awards
Progress Housing Group has been shortlisted in three categories of the prestigious, national 24Housing Awards.
The 24housing Awards were founded in 2013 with the aim of celebrating the very best that the housing sector has to offer. Driven by popular demand from within the sector, the awards recognise outstanding organisations and individuals who have demonstrated their ability to thrive in the new housing landscape.
Progress Housing Group has been shortlisted in 3 categories:
- Best Apprenticeship Scheme – in conjunction with Progress Futures
- Chief Executive of the Year – Jacqui De-Rose
- Housing Professional of the Year – Gill Harrison, Under Occupancy Officer
The 24Housing Award organisers say that there has never been a more exciting or challenging time to work in housing. Reductions in government grant and changes to the benefits system have forced housing providers of all shapes and sizes to think more creatively about the type of organisations they want to be now and in the future.
Janet Hale, Chair of the Board for Progress Housing Group, said;
“We are delighted that the hard work and dedication of our staff has been shortlisted in these awards, particularly during these challenging times. Gill Harrison, our Under Occupancy Officer, has been working very hard with tenants who find themselves under-occupying their homes due to the introduction of the spare room charges and is a worthy contender for Housing Professional of the Year. We also pride ourselves on having a great apprenticeship scheme for young, local people and our community involvement work in helping people into employment.
“I am also delighted that Jacqui De-Rose, who has been Chief Executive at Progress Housing Group since 2004, has been recognised in these awards. Jacqui ensures that our tenants are at the heart of our organisation, and her passion, empathy and commitment helps us provide life changing services to customers.”
24Housing had a record number of entries this year and those shortlisted will go forward to the final on 6th October at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry where the judges will be looking for entries that demonstrate value for money, best practice, successful outcomes and originality.
