Progress Housing Group’s Community Involvement Team took a party of tenants on a free, educational visit to the Gujarat Hindu Temple in Preston on 2nd June, as part of its cultural awareness and community involvement work.

The tenants were treated to an interesting talk, a tour of the temple and sampled some traditional cuisine.

Cathy Fleet, Community Involvement Manager for Progress Housing Group, explained; “We held this year’s Tenant Conference at the Temple back in March and we were so impressed we decided to visit again for a cultural awareness session.  We were delighted with the turn out and had a great time.  We would like to pass on a big thank you to our hosts for their hospitality and for the informative tour.  The feedback has been really positive from our tenants, who had a lovely time.”

Tenant Christopher Wren said, “This trip was a great idea. I’ve had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. I’ve learnt a lot too.”

Tenants should keep an eye on the website for further free educational trips and events hosted by the Community Involvement Team www.progressgroup.org.uk
