Do you want to support children and young people to have fun and learn new skills in their local community?

If so then become a volunteer youth worker.

As a volunteer youth worker you will get involved in all aspects of running the youth club from The Base community centre in Leyland. You will learn to plan and lead sessions that offer a fun way to build young people’s confidence and develop positive skills and attitudes.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who like children and young people who are cheerful, fun and outgoing. You would need to be reliable and trustworthy with good communication skills and an understanding of young people and their issues.

What is the time commitment?

We are looking for people who can offer approximately two hours per week for a tea time or early evening session for a minimum of one year.

How do we check volunteers?

All volunteers will have an informal interview as well as references and a DBS (police check).

Do I need special experience?

Some experience with children or young people would be an advantage although this doesn’t need to be formal, it could be within your own family or through friends. Full training is given and there will be ongoing support.

How do I apply?

If you would like to apply, please contact Lynda at lyndak@keyyouthcharity.org.uk and request an application form.
