Grounds Maintenance Update
We asked for your feedback and input into redeveloping the grounds maintenance specification. Following this feedback we made changes to the specification; for example the grass in now cut based on frequency not height. We put this new specification out to tender to start the new contract in April. The contract was split into two geographical regions, North and South. Glendale were successfully awarded both contracts for the next three years.
You can go on line at http://progress-housing.glendalelocal.co.uk/where you can put in your estate or postcode. You will then be able to see when the last visit was and when the next visit is due.
Volunteer Estate Appearance Inspectors
Following the start of the new grounds maintenance contract with Glendale, we have been working with our Volunteer Estate Appearance Inspectors to make sure the guidance and inspection forms are up-to-date.
This work was followed by a training session which we ran at the beginning of May. We are delighted that 10 customers attended this session and are now carrying out monthly inspections of the areas where they live. The comments our volunteer inspectors make are passed on to the relevant teams so they know what is working well, and what could be better.
Examples of recent feedback include: “clear message on no dog fouling seems to be working” and “grass has been left too long between cuts”.
What is involved in being a Volunteer Estate Appearance Inspector?
Our volunteer inspectors carry out monthly inspections of the area where they live and complete a record sheet to show what they found, for example, they may see that the grass has been cut recently and looks good or that they have found some graffiti, which is making the area look scruffy.
The volunteer inspector sends the completed sheet to Progress Housing Group who will take action to resolve any negative issues raised.
