Progress Lifeline service is now available to customers without the need for a landline
Many more people will now be able to benefit from Progress Lifeline's personal alarms and home emergency response service in Lancashire due to the launch of a new product – the GSM Care IP Unit (GSM).
The GSM works from a roaming SIM which picks up the strongest mobile network signal and has no requirement for a landline.
The need for the GSM unit arose after Progress Lifeline identified that there were many people across Lancashire who had wanted to take up the Progress Lifeline personal alarms and home emergency response service but were unable to because they didn't have a landline installed in their property.
The launch of the GSM will now mean that these people can now benefit from the same peace of mind and independent living that Progress Lifeline customers with a landline have been enjoying.
The new GSM system will cost the customer £4.60 per week for the unit, pendant and 24/7 365 days/year monitoring by the Progress Lifeline Monitoring Centre and be free to install. This is just £1 more per week than our standard service. Additional services, such as the Emergency Home Response Service will also be available for GSM customers for the same additional costs (an extra £1.50 per week) as the standard service.
"This is an exciting development in our Progress Lifeline offer to customers. The launch of the GSM system will mean that the Progress Lifeline personal alarm service can be extended to more people who need it across Lancashire." Joanne Howard, Project Manager – Progress Lifeline
The GSM unit is available to new Progress Lifeline customers paying privately for the service from 1 March 2018.
