A new housing development in Fylde, which is owned and has been developed by Progress Housing Group and built in partnership with local building contractor Melrose Construction Limited, is nearing completion.

Twelve new homes being built on the site will be available for affordable rent and have been built at a time when more affordable housing is being sought in the North of England.

The development has been built on land belonging to Progress Housing Group, and is the former site of one of the Group’s independent living schemes, which after being void for a number of months, and after a period of consultation, was deemed no longer fit for purpose.

The scheme was demolished in 2014 with the site redeveloped into modern affordable housing to support regeneration in the Fylde area and to provide suitable homes for families who need them.

A second independent living scheme (housing for the over 55s), Croft Court, remains on the site.

The new development, which is sited at Naze Lane, Freckleton, consists of eight two and three-bedroom houses and four two-bedroom bungalows. These have been allocated to individuals, couples and families with links to the Fylde area, and we look forward to welcoming our new tenants over the next few months.
