This year, Progress Housing Group is taking part in National Scrutiny Week running from 27 July - 31 July 2020

The week is being coordinated by TPAS - the tenant engagement experts. Scrutiny Week will give tenants and landlords the opportunity to celebrate the impact of working in partnership to scrutinise services and learn about how other organisations work in partnership with their tenants too.

During the week, Tpas will encourage members and the wider sector to showcase scrutiny groups, panel members, chairs, projects and stories.

Highlights during the week include a tenant panel discussion with Clive Betts, MP for Sheffield South East and Chair of the MHCLG Select Committee, plus there will be live panels debates, Q&A’s, webinars and the launch of a brand new research paper into local authority housing scrutiny.

Speaking about the National Scrutiny Week, Jenny Osbourne, Tpas chief executive said, "It’s a chance for us all to embed our learning, showing how things can be done differently and have open conversations about the future.

"Tpas are behind the idea, but we don’t own the week. We want the sector to use #ScrutinyWeek to celebrate and learn about scrutiny together."

Robert Porter, Service Director at Progress Housing Group, added, "Progress Housing Group is incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication of our customers who lead the service reviews run by our scrutiny pool.

"Our Progress customers have been invaluable in providing us with feedback and insight which has informed the way our services have been delivered, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Over the last year Progress Housing Group’s scrutiny pool has reviewed two services and made 11 recommendations for improvements, and partnership work with our tenants continues to provide more opportunities to improve quality of life for our tenants and our communities.

"We are proud to support National Scrutiny Week and to highlight the tenant-led scrutiny and tenant engagement work happening around the country."

A Progress Housing Group scrutiny pool member said, “Since becoming a tenant of Progress, I feel privileged to be able to dedicate my time and support to make a difference.

"The opportunities for customers to do voluntary roles at Progress are wide-ranging.

"This type of involvement enables us to contribute to processes and procedures, ensuring value for money decisions and outcomes, as well as the smooth running of Progress Housing Group."

How can tenants get involved in National Scrutiny Week?

Progress Housing Group will be showcasing some of our tenant-led scrutiny work and achievements across our social media channels. We’d love for our tenants to get involved and show how things are done differently here at Progress Housing Group.
