Starting a new job during a pandemic can be a great experience when you're joining Progress Housing Group’s Property Services Team!
Our property services team has welcomed a number of new starters recently. Yes, mid-pandemic!
We got in touch and asked them what it's been like to join us at Progress Housing Group during the COVID-19 crisis. (And luckily, they’re all really happy with the support they’ve received!)
Cath Mustafa, Head of Property Services at Progress Housing Group says, "It's been lovely to receive such amazing feedback from our new starters in property services. We’ve ensured we’ve got work for them all (as they don’t qualify for furlough) and have done everything we can to welcome them to the Group in some really difficult circumstances.
"Most of the new starters are not doing the job we hired them for, as due to the pandemic we halted all planned work as soon as they joined, but we managed not to delay their start date, which they have told us they are really appreciative of.
"All the new starters have been found positions across the Group delivering essential services and they have all stepped up during this challenging time. I’m so proud of them.”
One of the new starters at Progress Housing Group, Tim Jones, said, "Being a new starter in these unprecedented times and handing in my notice in March to start with Progress Housing Group on the 6 April (not knowing what was going to happen with the pandemic) has been a little worrying. But from day one I have been very impressed with the professionalism and support offered by everyone I have worked with.
"From my managers in property services, to the managers of the independent living schemes where I have currently been working, they have all kept me regularly updated with any information regarding the virus and have ensured that I have all the necessary PPE equipment. I needed."
