On Monday 9 March 2020, employees at Progress Housing Group set off on an energising 2,375-mile virtual cycling challenge to raise money for local homelessness charities.

Taking place between 9 - 15 March 2020, the 2,375-mile 'Tour de Progress' represents the distance it would take to travel around the Group's 11,000-unit portfolio of housing stock. Meeting the target will be the equivalent of each member of staff cycling four miles. Some members of staff have even set themselves a personal target of many more miles to achieve a personal best!

Diane Nash, Progress Involvement Manager at Progress Housing Group said, "Progress Housing Group's 25th anniversary charity pledge has so far seen money raised for a whole range of local and national charities such as British Heart Foundation and local food banks.

"We are almost at the end of our 25th anniversary year and we wanted to end our celebrations and charity pledge by raising money for homelessness charities that are very close to our heart.

"Safe, quality housing is fundamental to a good quality of life but sadly, due to different circumstances, many of which are out of peoples' own control, some families and individuals find themselves at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.

"By raising money for some of our local homelessness charities through a fun but challenging virtual bike ride round our housing stock, we can honour our commitment to supporting people to rebuild their lives and providing opportunities for people to live independently and enjoy a good quality of life."

The virtual cycling challenge is part of Progress Housing Group's 25th anniversary celebrations for which the Group have pledged to raise more than £25,000 for charity before the end of March 2020.
