What a difference a new door makes | A planned works update
Progress Housing Group's Planned Works Team were delighted to be given the go-ahead to make a start on our planned works programme early in June 2020.
As there were still a number of restrictions in place, the team carefully assessed what work they could carry out safely and agreed to focus on our external door programme.
Our technical officers immediately began measuring up for jobs and contacting our customers to make sure they were happy for us to go ahead with the work.
We were able to give assurances to customers that we would be following government advice and had new working safely guidelines in place. And over 90% of customers agreed for work to start.
With social distancing measures in place and ensuring all surfaces were regularly cleaned, our Planned Works Team immediately started on the external door programme, with over 30 new doors being replaced in June. And what a difference a new door makes!
We have received some excellent feedback and customers (who are given a choice of four different door types and four different colours) have agreed that whilst they were wary of having someone visit their home at first, they are delighted with the results and with the care taken by our operatives on ensuring they were safe throughout.
