Our return to G1
The Regulator of Social Housing publishes regulatory judgements for all providers owning 1,000 or more social housing homes.
These judgements set out whether the provider is complying with the regulator’s governance and financial viability standards. Housing providers are rated from one to four for financial viability (V) and a separate rating from one to four for governance (G).
In 2019, we identified some areas for improvement in our property compliance processes. Some of our inspections had been carried out late and some of the follow up repairs and other actions had taken too long to complete. We informed the housing regulator and we were subsequently regraded as G2V1. Since 2020, we have been working determinedly to secure a regrade back to G1.
We recently submitted our bank of evidence to the Regulator to demonstrate the volume of work we have undertaken to improve our processes and systems so that we can provide assurance on our property compliance and rent setting programmes.
We are very pleased to announce that we have been informed of our reinstatement to a G1/ V1 status effective from 28 July 2021.
Jacqui De-Rose, Chief Executive, said: ‘This regrade to G1 signals the continuation of our journey as we embed these changes and deliver our continuous improvement activities. We are committed to being one of the very best housing associations in the country in this field of work. We are well on track to achieve that aim.’
