We are thrilled to announce that last night, 11 November, the Group won two awards at the 2021 North West Employee Engagement Group (NWEEG) awards.

Lorraine Duong, Progress Lifeline Emergency Home Responder, took home the Kindness Award, after being nominated for her work supporting Progress Lifeline customers in their homes. The Group also took home the Corporate Fundraiser Award in recognition of our community investment, sponsorship and charity work supporting our communities.

The NWEEG awards took place on Thursday 11 November at a black tie awards ceremony at The Monastery in Manchester to celebrate businesses across the North West of England engaging well with their employees, customers and stakeholders.

Progress Housing Group was shortlisted for five awards overall, including Corporate Fundraiser and Kindest Awards for both the Group and Lorraine Duong, Progress Lifeline for Top Team, and Sian Chetram from our Supported Living Team for the Awesome Apprentice Award.

After the winners were announced, Debbie Atherton, Executive Director at Progress Housing Group, said:

"We are thrilled to first of all have been shortlisted for five awards in this year's North West Employee Engagement Group awards, and absolutely honoured to win the award for Corporate Fundraiser and for our Emergency Home Responder Lorraine to also win for her inspirational work helping Progress Lifeline customers in their homes.

"These awards show the Group's commitment to supporting our colleagues, tenants and customers and keeping people at the heart of the organisation. Just to be nominated is testament to our colleagues' commitment to supporting our customers. Well done everyone!"

NWEEG winner Lorraine has previously been praised by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics when she went the extra mile during the COVID-19 pandemic to support one of Progress Lifeline's customers who is deaf and who was very unwell at home. You can read about Lorraine's act of kindness, here: Progress Lifeline hero Lorraine goes the extra mile, and is thanked by paramedics, for ensuring a vulnerable customer was safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

Progress Housing Group has a long history of supporting our communities through fundraising and charity work, including through our Community Investment Fund, sponsorship and charity fund, and social value commitments.

Last year, we celebrated our 25 year anniversary by raising more than £33,000 for charity. You can read more on our website here: A whopping £33,300 raised for charity as part of Progress Housing Group's 25th anniversary celebrations.

A huge well done to all the nominees, finalists and winners on the night!
