Progress Housing Group is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion and actively challenging racism, hate, and discrimination.

Our core purpose is to tackle inequity and work towards a fairer society for all. Over the past 18 months in particular, as part of our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) work, we’ve evaluated who we are, why we exist, and how we can meaningfully contribute to a global action that is long overdue.

We have been reviewing how we position ourselves externally as an organisation – through the language we use and how we reflect the diversity of experience of our customers and colleagues. We are committed to challenging conversations in the public arena: we must ensure that we lead by example.

We are on a journey, and we are well aware of the social obligation we have to make to encourage change. We are committed to making a meaningful difference for all people.

We stand with all our partners and communities in housing, and our sporting and football communities, to strongly condemn the racism aimed at some of the England players after the weekend’s Euro2020 final.

Racist, discriminatory, and hate comments and behaviour have no place in our communities, and our support is with our football and sporting communities at this time.
