Enjoy photos from our Cultural Celebration
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to make our Cultural Celebration a success.
It was great to see everyone come together at Leyland Methodist Church to celebrate our diverse community.
We were thrilled to welcome members of Preston Black History Group, Self Advocacy, Stop Social Housing Stigma, Preston Caribbean Carnival, Creative Network Arts and Craft Group, Disability Equality North West to name but a few.
We were also joined by colleagues and tenants sharing their story, skills and talents.
The vibrant costumes of the Caribbean Carnival drew a lot of attention, and there was even a guest appearance by Tommy the Scarecrow, made by tenants of Northbrook Gardens.
We also need to give a special mention to our intern Bradley who wowed the audience with his amazing vocal talents. Well done!
The food from Preston United Youth Development Programme went down a treat, as people were able to taste delicacies from around the world.
Our Progress Futures team and MPT Steps were also at the event, providing information about their employment and training support. We also had members of Progress Lifeline present, discussing their personal alarm and telecare services.
Diane Nash, Progress Involvement Manager, said: “I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came to our Cultural Celebration. It was a great event, with around 125 people joining in.
"It was lovely to hear everyone’s stories and to celebrate how wonderfully diverse our community is. We are already planning for next year’s event which we have pencilled in for Saturday 16 September, same time, same place.”
