Join our new Tech & Talk workshops to build your online skills
Keith Vaughton, the new Community Project Officer at our charity Key Unlocking Futures, will deliver new Tech & Talk workshops for our supported living and supported housing tenants across South Ribble, Chorley, and Preston.
The Tech & Talk workshops can help build confidence in the online world by providing basic computer skills. These workshops can also help with household budgeting by using online money planners and comparison websites.
Everyone attending Tech & Talk can access the latest tablets and laptops. The workshops are user-centred, so Keith can arrange one-to-one coaching or provide mini-group workshops.
Here is what some people say about the sessions:
Helen: “When Covid hit, I lost my job and a lot of confidence. Since working with Keith, I’m now looking at getting back into employment through training or voluntary work.”
Graham: “I always thought the internet was for the younger generation. Thanks to the one-to-one coaching, I have discovered a whole new world.”
Sarah: “The Tech & Talk workshops have helped me overcome my fears of going online. I now have the confidence to do online shopping and internet banking.”
Harry: “Through the group workshops, I have realised the internet is not all about social media. By discussing my interests with Keith, I’m now thinking about returning to college.”
Keith hopes to spark more conversations about digital access and inclusion in our community.
Key Unlocking Futures believes building digital skills can help build better lives.
Workshops will be held at:
- St Mary's Community Centre, in Leyland, every Monday 10am-12pm.
- Mill Bank Wellbeing Centre, in Preston, every Wednesday 10am -12pm
