Your voice matters to us and that is why we are always keen to support you with carrying out scrutiny activities.

So last month, we were thrilled to host an activity and information day at our newly refurbished office at Progress House to help tenants develop their skills and confidence to carry out scrutiny activities.

Eight members of our Scrutiny Pool, the newly named Tenants' Voice - Improving Services, attended the session, which was led by an independent consultant.

They discussed why it was important to have a review group and the skills and processes needed.

The group also looked at positive challenges, how to ask effective questions and offer solutions, as well as analysing reports and information.

The tenants were actively engaged throughout and enjoyed taking part in the collaborative activities.

Feedback included: “A most interesting and informative day.”

“I got the information to move forward and offer my services in the future.”

 “Intelligent and positive debate.”

“I loved the brainstorming and interplay of ideas.”

Ron told us: “I am pretty new to this. I volunteer at Tuson House in Penwortham and check the fire alarms, do ground maintenance and check for repairs. I wanted to know what the next step is and what else I can join in with – it has been quite interesting.”

Fiona said: “It has been good to see new faces at the information day. The more people that join us, the more we can change. I also love that Progress Housing Group is open to change and giving tenants a voice.”
