Progress Housing Group announces new two-year sponsorship of Typhoons RUFC

Progress Housing Group is delighted to announce that they have extended their sponsorship of Lancashire's first inclusive rugby club, Typhoons RUFC, in a two-year agreement that also sees the Group become the new official front-of-shirt sponsors for the Typhoon's touch rugby team.

Tammy Bradley, Executive Director at Progress Housing Group, said, "Progress Housing Group has been a proud sponsor of Typhoons RUFC since 2020. As the touch team's new front-of-shirt sponsor, we are thrilled to extend our support to the club for another couple of years.

"As a social housing provider, we recognise the positive impact we can have on our society and our part in addressing inequalities. As part of this, we are passionate about supporting our local communities and delivering on our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

"The Typhoons RUFC are doing such important work celebrating and promoting inclusion, diversity and belonging, and being a champion for better mental health. We look forward to growing our relationship with the club over the next two years."

Kris Barber-Midgley, Sponsorship and Development Officer for Typhoons RUFC, added, "We are thrilled to receive continued sponsorship from Progress Housing Group. The club couldn't run as it does without the invaluable support of local businesses such as Progress, helping us to support wider access to rugby across the North West.

"We are grateful that we have such fantastic sponsors who support the Typhoons and what we stand for. We look forward to continuing this productive relationship between Progress and the Typhoons going into the future."

The extended sponsorship agreement between Progress Housing Group and Typhoons RUFC will commence from April 2022 for two seasons up until Spring 2024.

It has been an exciting start to the year for Typhoons RUFC; in January 2022, the club celebrated its 4th birthday. In February, the club was thrilled to win the 'Community Award – LGBT' at the National Diversity Awards for their equality, diversity and inclusion work.

April 2022 will see the Typhoons host the IGR Northern League Finals day at their home ground, Preston Grasshoppers, where 200+ individuals representing inclusive rugby teams in the North of England and Scotland will join together for the day.
