After a successful pilot last year, we resumed our Community Chat initiative, with a visit to the Kilnhouse estate in St Annes.

Teams spoke to residents and tenants, asking how happy they were with Progress Housing Group as a landlord, and what concerns they had about the area.

Most tenants we spoke to were happy with the area and the services we provide, but were also able to tell us about some issues.  We will use this information to help deliver improvements in that area.

Some comments included: “Happy here, keep up the good work.”

“I would like the gardens to be a bit nicer, with more trees and flowers planted.”

“It takes a long time to do repairs. Sometimes they don’t fix it properly and they have to return.”

“Fantastic sized property with lots of storage.”

“I'd like to be introduced to the caretaker/estate managers, as I have not really seen them.”

The chat was led by the Fylde West Area Housing Team, with members from other Progress Housing Group departments also joining, including Non-Executive Director Gavin Cawthra.

Gavin said: “I joined in as I thought it was a great opportunity to speak to people in an informal manner and find out what their views were, and listen to both the positive and negative. It helps us understand the real life issues our tenants are facing.

“I found it to be a really positive experience. It has increased my understanding of the excellent work Progress Housing Group does and I think our tenants appreciate the initiative.”
