Charleston Court in Walton-le-Dale, one of our independent living schemes, has undergone a major refurbishment of all its communal areas.

Tired net curtains and walls have been replaced with vibrant colours, corridors transformed into light spaces, and new carpets fitted.

The lounge has had a major revamp with new carpet, curtains and blinds and old furniture has been replaced with new.

The transformation has given the room a modern feel where tenants can come together and invite family and friends to share and be happy in their environment.

Charleston Court tenants have welcomed the re-opening of their communal lounge. Bingo was first on their agenda. They met up with other tenants and their friends who live in the local community to enjoy an afternoon of social fun.

Maureen, a resident at Charleston Court, said, “It is so nice to be able to come into the lounge again and meet up with other tenants and friends. The lounge has been transformed into a modern space. I like it very much.”
Another resident, Joyce, commented, “The room is really spacious, with very comfortable furniture. It is so nice to be back meeting tenants and friends again and especially after lockdown.”
