Board strategy day and new homes tour
Our board meets twice a year to undertake strategic discussions, which include how we deliver on our commitments and plan for the future.
Last month members of our board and leadership team took part in a strategy event, discussing the Group's Strategic Plan and Business Priorities and where we want to be in 2028.
Key areas of discussion included our vision, objectives and key performance measures, with sessions held by members of our executive and leadership teams on our customer voice focus and digital and people strategies.
The event was also an opportunity to welcome new Non-Executive Directors Elaine Johnstone and Nigel Ingram.
As part of the session, board members looked around a section 106 site in Broughton, Preston, where we have acquired a number of low-cost affordable homes for rent and shared ownership homes, as well as a grant-funded scheme in Weeton, providing the opportunity to see the size, layout, design and specification of the homes being delivered. They also visited a supported living scheme in Leyland, Lancashire and met with tenants Nathan and Caitlin.
Progress Housing Group Non-Executive Director Gavin Cawthra found the event "a great opportunity to come together to consider the strategy and future. The key take away for me was confirmation that plans will continue to remain focused on having a positive impact on people through the provision of high-quality homes. The reality of putting plans into practice was keenly demonstrated by the visits to the newly developed schemes and the supported living scheme, which showed the impressive quality of homes and neighbourhoods being built and the independence and opportunities that can be created."
Non-Executive Director Neil Townsend added, "It was good to spend time as a group of board members considering feedback from tenants on a range of landlord services and considering plans for the future against a background of many challenges, least not those faced by some of our tenants. To be on-site and see up close new housing development and to talk to tenants in their own homes all added to a very rewarding time together."
We look forward to our next Board strategy event in October.
