Every year Progress Housing Group helps support tenants and colleagues in their fundraising efforts through our Charity Fund. 

Last year, our Charity Fund donated more than £10,200 to charities and good causes. 

This included donations to Key Unlocking Futures, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Guide Dogs, St John’s Ambulance, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Alzheimer's Society, Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust, Samaritans, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Breast Cancer Now, North West Air Ambulance, Derian House, Cancer Research UK and MNDA.

Examples include:

  • Old Mill Court tenant Wilma organised a coffee morning, raising £122.22 for Breast Cancer Now. We match funded this to take the final total to £244.44.
  • Lynne walked 26.2 miles over the course of 31 days to raise £80 for Samaritans, which we match funded to £160.

  • We boosted Lowerfield tenants' fundraising to help them reach the £1,566 needed for a debrillator.

We try to “match fund” the funds raised, up to £1,000 per event. For example, if somebody raised £500 by having a cake sale, the Group could match this by donating £500 to the nominated charity.

So, if you are taking part in any fundraising events over the next few months, whether that is a cake sale, sky dive, a head shave or a sponsored walk, please don’t forget to submit an application to the Charity Fund.
