We are proud to support our community and help make our areas safer places to live.

Here are some ways our Community Safety Team has worked with local organisations to reduce anti-social behaviour amongst youths:

  • The team purchased 10 pairs of boxing gloves for Paul, ex-pro boxer and tenant. Paul runs the Penwortham Boxing Club and offers boxing classes to help keep youths off the streets.

Paul was extremely grateful, and we look forward to supporting him further in the future, especially given all the fantastic work he does for his community.

  • Following reports of anti-social behaviour from youths in the Towngate area and near Tesco, Community Safety Officer Leeann built links with the local Natbridge Amateur Boxing Club and also liaised with the local Policing Team.

The Boxing club’s owner Martin was happy for us and the police to promote his gym to the youths. As some of his equipment had become quite worn out, the Community Safety Team bought 10 pairs of adult boxing gloves and 10 pairs of children’s gloves. Martin thanked Leeann and told her that he had owned his gym since his 20s and this was the first time he had ever been given something from the community.
