National Supported Internship Day
Progress Housing Group is proud to support the first-ever National Supported Internship Day, which takes place on Monday, 27 March 2023.
As part of a campaign by DFN Project SEARCH and funded by the Department of Education, the day aims to raise awareness of supported internships and their benefits for young people who have a learning disability or are autistic.
Progress Housing Group is now in its second year as a host employer for the South Ribble Project SEARCH programme, providing work experience to 18 young people to help them gain confidence in a workplace setting whilst receiving on-the-job training and support.
"We are delighted to be celebrating National Supported Internship Day and highlighting the benefits of supported internships programmes," said Jacqui De-Rose, Group Chief Executive of Progress Housing Group.
"It is a pivotal moment in a young person's life when they move from education into employment, and we are thrilled to be part of that process and creating opportunities for them."
Last year, seven graduates from the Group's first cohort of Project SEARCH interns successfully secured paid employment in their fields of choice, with two young people securing roles with Progress Housing Group.
