We welcomed our involved tenants to our office as they took part in a volunteer induction day.

A total of 11 tenants joined us as they were kept up-to-date on the important role they play and how to get involved.

We were pleased to welcome a new volunteer to the team who is very much looking forward to getting stuck in.

Our Chief Executive Jacqui De-Rose was first to lead the discussion, talking about our vision and values and why providing good quality housing to our tenants is important to us.

Members of the Progress Involvement Team talked about what they do and the important role volunteers play. The tenants learnt more about the support on offer and how to join our scrutiny and volunteer activities.

The group also heard from our Health and Safety Manager Ashleigh and met our new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Business Partner, Jude.

The tenants enjoyed the day and found the information useful.

We had a positive response from all our volunteers who enjoyed the day. It was great to get their ideas on what we could include next time.

We will be delivering regular training and information sessions for our tenants and volunteers over the next year, so keep an eye out for what is coming up next.

Ron said: “It is good to have these induction days, as otherwise we would not know what we needed to know. It helps us to know what we is expected of us. I found it very interesting and useful.”

Jacqui De-Rose, Chief Executive, said: “I had the great pleasure of meeting a number of tenants who are interested and involved in the work of Progress. They have given their time to help us be the best we can be at providing services our tenants want from us.

“We talked about the importance of good quality housing, the need to provide support to enable people to live independently and the importance of creating new opportunities to help people live better lives.

“It was a fabulous day and gave me the opportunity to hear first-hand the views of a range of tenants living in our homes and to reiterate how important it is to us that we hear our tenants’ voices.”
