Thank you to everyone who took part in our consultation about proposals to introduce a new governance structure (the way we do things to make sure we make good decisions as an organisation). We are proposing to set up two new committees, which will include tenants.

We want to enhance how our tenants can help us to improve our services by inviting them to sit on our new committees, along with non-executive Board members.

  • One committee (Progress Homes Committee) will act for Progress Housing Group’s general needs, independent living and shared owners.
  • One committee (RWP Committee) will act for our supported living tenants.

The purpose of the committees will be to help listen to the customer and tenant voice.

The main responsibilities of the committee will be to:

  • Review the service delivery to tenants of Progress Homes and RWP
  • Understand tenant satisfaction results to help drive improvements
  • Understand the complaints process, reporting and experiences of tenants to ensure tenants concerns are dealt with effectively
  • Review performance against regulatory and legislative requirements which have a tenant impact
  • Review and comment on relevant policies, strategies, business priorities, and service improvement projects from a tenant perspective

To gather your thoughts, we engaged with tenants face to face at five online and in person events in October and November, and also received completed feedback forms about the new structure – a huge thanks to everyone.

There was also an opportunity to answer a poll and leave feedback on our website: Have your say | Proposal to include tenants in a new committee

Everyone who filled out the consultation form was entered into a prize draw to win a £100 shopping voucher.

We were delighted to award the voucher to Stephen from Longton, who was selected at random to receive the prize. Congratulations Stephen - we are grateful for your feedback.

Debbie Atherton, Executive Director (Governance, People and Communications), said: “We were thrilled that some of our tenants joined us to have their say about our new committees. We gained valuable insight and really appreciated everyone’s time and feedback on our proposals, so thank you.

“We want to involve our tenants even more in helping us to improve our services. And we believe tenants reviewing and having a say on our governance structure can help us share what's best for our tenants and communities.”

What’s next?

Your feedback will be shared with involved tenants and our Senior Leadership Team, and will support us to review our governance arrangements.

We will be recruiting for these committees in January. Tenant members would be expected to agree to be a member for a period of time and take part one day a month. This includes meetings, training or activities.
