This week is Safeguarding Adults Week where we raise awareness of the measures we should all take to protect the health, wellbeing and human rights of individuals.

At Progress Housing Group, safeguarding our tenants, customers and our colleagues is an inherent part of the work that do, whilst providing good quality housing to meet a range of needs. We also manage a range of services supporting victims of domestic abuse and people at risk of homelessness with our charitable arm, Key Unlocking Futures

Many of our tenants are vulnerable and some are at risk of exploitation. It is important that we are able to recognise the risk of harm and abuse in whatever form it may take. We’re supporting the Ann Craft Trust to highlight and raise awareness of key themes this week:

  • What are our roles?
  • Dealing with trauma
  • Co-production with experts by experience

We will be sharing some helpful resources, as well as raising awareness of modern slavery and domestic abuse. Watch our animated “explainer” video about reporting abuse, created for our RWP supported living tenants.

How can you make a difference?

Adult Safeguarding is about safety and wellbeing. There are some situations we may come across where a situation is impacting a vulnerable person so much that they are unsafe. Or it impacts their wellbeing - this is safeguarding, too.
