We are pleased to announce two members of our Progress Housing Group family have been shortlisted in this year’s Housing Heroes and Women in Housing awards.

We nominated Joan Musker and Lynne Cubbin for the amazing achievements and impact they have made at the Group. Joan has been shortlisted for the Tenant of the Year category as part of the Housing Heroes Awards and Lynne is a finalist for Board/Committee Member of the Year category as part of the Women In Housing Awards.

These fabulous individuals will attend the awards which are part of the opening ceremony of Housing 2023 on Monday 26 June at Manchester Central Convention Complex.

The awards celebrate the leaders, innovators and change makers across the sector, championing the successes of women and shared learning within the housing sector. We nominated Joan and Lynne to celebrate the work they do in our communities.

Joan is one of our tenants and also the Chairperson of the Wade Hall Community Association. We nominated her because she works tirelessly to deliver community led services, providing support to vulnerable tenants during Covid-19. She has also introduced a wide range of opportunities to bring people together and provide fun activities to a community struggling with the cost of living crisis.

When asked about her role, Joan says: “I love what I do and that is why I am doing it. I have worked in Wade Hall and Broadfield a long time. I know a lot of the families. Some of those children have grown up now and they volunteer with us.”

Lynne is our Chairperson of Key Unlocking Futures. Her nomination celebrates the fact she has been the driving force behind the diversification of Key Unlocking Futures and its growth and success.

She says: “Awards are not something I’d ever thought about and being shortlisted was a complete surprise. Key’s success is always a full team effort, so I’m looking forward to helping Key get the wider recognition it fully deserves.”

On behalf of the Group and the people Joan and Lynne have helped, we wish them the best of luck and congratulate them on the difference they make to our communities.
