Shining a spotlight on our volunteer estate appearance inspectors

At Progress Housing Group we are really fortunate to work with a group of customers who volunteer their time to carry out estate appearance inspections of the area they live in.

This is a really important role as it gives us the chance to get comments directly from customers living in the area, who tell us what is going well, as well as what could be better to improve the appearance of the area they live in.

What is involved in being a volunteer estate appearance inspector?

Our volunteers carry out monthly inspections of the area where they live and complete a record sheet to say how they found the area, for example, they may pick up that the grass has been cut recently and looks good or that they have found some graffiti, which is making the area look scruffy.

The inspector sends the completed sheet to the Progress Involvement Team who record the results and pass on any actions needed to the appropriate team.

We would really love to expand our team of volunteers - could it be something that you are interested in or could it help you develop new skills to include on your CV?

Training and support is provided to all our volunteers and we cover the cost of expenses needed to carry out the role.
