Keeping our areas clean
Our cleaning services
The cleaning service that you receive will vary dependent upon the type of home that you have but we will always aim to keep any areas that we are responsible for in a clean and welcoming condition so please get in touch if you have any queries or concerns.
Our communal areas are currently cleaned by R&J Facilities Ltd. Blocks of more than two floors most likely also have window cleaning carried out which is currently done by Cain Window Cleaning. How often they clean the shared spaces will depend upon previous consultations that have been carried out with residents as the cost of the cleaning is covered through your service charge.
Independent Living Schemes have their own Domestic employed by Progress Housing Group. How often they clean the shared spaces will depend upon previous consultations that have been carried out with residents as the cost of the cleaning is covered through your service charge.
Environmental issues
We are committed to keeping our other shared spaces clean and tidy so that our neighbourhoods are vibrant areas to live.
Litter picking
Litter picking will be carried out before any grounds maintenance is carried out to ensure that the area is left clean and tidy. In addition, our Neighbourhood Caretaking Team will carry out regular inspections of areas and litter pick where needed. If you have noticed an area of concern, you can request the Neighbourhood Caretaker visits by contacting us.
Flytipping
Flytipping is a nuisance to all residents and a criminal offence. You can report any incidents you witness to Crime Stoppers to provide any useful information to prevent it happening again. If the flytipping has been left on an area of land belonging to Progress Housing Group then our Neighbourhood Caretaker will investigate further and arrange for it to be removed – you can request a visit by contacting us.
Community Clean Up Days
Occasionally we may choose to hold a Community Clean Up day in your area. We will always promote the event in advance and welcome the input from the community in a good spring clean of an area – where funds allow we will provide a skip for community use and refreshments
Graffiti
Graffiti is a nuisance to all residents and a criminal offence. You can report any incidents you witness to Crime Stoppers to provide any useful information to prevent it happening again. If the graffiti has caused damage to property belonging to Progress Housing Group then our Neighbourhood Caretaker will investigate further and arrange for it to be removed – you can request a visit by contacting us.
Pest Control
Please check your agreement with Progress Housing Group to see who is responsible for pest control to your property. Where it is tenant responsibility we will still work with you to prevent any further issues by blocking any access points or carrying out repairs needed to stop vermin and infestations. If pests are present in communal or shared spaces then we may carry out the necessary treatments and service charge the cost to affected residents. You can help avoid issues by ensuring that rubbish is disposed of correctly, not putting out food for wild animals and following the advice of professionals where needed.
