Set up a Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the simplest and most convenient way to pay your rent

​Payments can be made straight from your building society or bank account. And it means you don't have to worry about missing a rent payment. All the normal Direct Debit safeguards and guarantees apply:

  • No amount, date or frequency changes can be made without notifying you five working days before your account is debited.
  • In the event of an error, you are entitled to a full refund from your bank or building society.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit instruction anytime by contacting your bank, building society, or ourselves.

 

Before you start

You need a valid reference number to set up a Direct Debt online.

  • Rent and/or service charge payments - nine or ten-digit tenancy code beginning with a four or five
  • Sundry payments - eight-digit customer code, for example, 12/000000
  • Bank or building society name and account number, sort code and branch address.

If you are not the account holder

If you are not the account holder, or if more than one person is required to authorise debits on your account, a paper Direct Debit Instruction will need to be completed.

To set up the Direct Debit

  1. Enter your reference number and click Submit
  2. Complete the details on the next page and click Proceed
  3. Check the information displayed on the next page and Confirm if it is correct (you can also cancel and edit at this stage)
  4. Save or print a copy of the notification page displayed.
