Supporting victims and witnesses
Victims and witnesses are crucial in tackling instances of anti-social behaviour. That is why we ensure they are supported from when the behaviour is first reported.
Witness Support service
We understand how challenging it can be to feel confident and safe enough to take action if you have experienced or witnessed anti-social behaviour. This is why we have developed a dedicated Witness Support service.
Our services provides you with support 24 hour a day, seven days a week. Our aims are to:
- Increase confidence so that members of our communities feel comfortable reporting incidents of anti-social behaviour
- Support all victims and witnesses of anti-social behaviour that live, work or visit our communities
- Help the victims and witnesses of serious criminal or serious anti-social behaviour to be re-housed if it is necessary to do so
- Support victims and witnesses when they make a stand against crime and anti-social behaviour.
What can you expect from us?
As part of our service, we will take immediate steps to try to minimise any immediate threat to you.
This includes carrying out risk assessments and providing you with extra security measures if necessary, advising you what steps to take if you wish to remain anonymous, offering continuing support after the incident is resolved until you tell us that you no longer need it.
We will show you around court if the case needs to be remedied by taking legal action and can provide voice recorders or install cameras to help gather evidence.
