Our partnership with AFC Fylde Community Foundation

For the past few months, our Community Investment Fund has proudly supported the AFC Fylde Community Foundation, helping to deliver summer holiday activities at our community centre in Lower Lane. Read about this here: Summer youth activity at Lower Lane

This support has been extended for another year with the introduction of new initiatives.

AFC Fylde Community Foundation will now deliver a varied weekly programme at the community centre. These sessions will cater to people of all ages and backgrounds, offering opportunities for mentoring, outreach, educational support, social engagement, and professional development.

AFC Fylde Community Foundation is now offering the following:
•    Monday: one-to-one mentoring and outreach sessions, offering tailored support to those who need it most.
•    Tuesday: Homework Club runs from 3pm-4pm, followed by Youth Club from 4pm-6pm and Youth Voice from 6pm-7pm, giving young people a platform to express their ideas and aspirations.
•    Wednesday: Volunteer Training for NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) individuals is held from 1pm-3pm, empowering participants to gain new skills and confidence.
•    Thursday: A mum and baby group will provide a welcoming space for new families to connect and support one another. Details to be confirmed.
•    Friday: Jobs Club / drop-in sessions offer practical support for those seeking employment, advice, or a listening ear.

Sam Beattie, Customer Voice Officer at Progress Housing Group, said: “We have really valued our partnership with AFC Fylde Community Foundation, as the recent summer activities have helped to provide a safe space for youngsters to try new activities and socialise with others.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to supporting even more initiatives that make a lasting difference to even more tenants.”

Brett Whitehead, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at AFC Fylde Community Foundation, said: “We are delighted to extend and continue our work with Progress Housing Group. We are incredibly grateful for this partnership and look forward to offering a rich weekly schedule of activities at the community centre designed to empower tenants, build connections, and support wellbeing.”
